Militiamen smirk as they travel on the back of a transport truck, speeding past a line of multiple lifeless forms and heading in the direction of the setting Sudan's sunset.

"See this extensive effort. Observe this act of mass destruction," a fighter shouts.

The fighter smiles as he points the camera on himself and his associate fighters, their paramilitary identification visible: "The victims shall all perish this way."

The men are exulting in a massacre that aid workers fear killed over thousands of civilians in the Sudanese city of el-Fasher last month.

A City Isolated from the World

After maintaining the city under blockade for approximately two years, from late summer the RSF advanced to reinforce its dominance and prevent access for the leftover inhabitants.

Satellite images show that troops began to erect a massive sand wall - a elevated earthen wall - surrounding the perimeter of al-Fashir, blocking entry points and preventing relief supplies.

During the encirclement escalated, seventy-eight people were slain in an RSF assault on a place of worship on September 19th, while the UN said dozens more were slain in drone and artillery strikes on a displacement camp in October.

Explicit Footage Reveals Unarmed Individuals Executed

By sunrise on 26 October the RSF conquered the remaining government positions and captured the main base in the city, the headquarters of the 6th Infantry Division, as the military retreated.

One of the most graphic footage to appear and examined revealed the results of a massacre at a campus structure on the western side of the city, where numerous dead bodies were seen scattered throughout the ground.

An elderly individual dressed in a traditional garment was seated alone amongst the bodies. The individual looked to glance as a combatant armed with a weapon proceeded along the steps facing him. lifting his weapon, the fighter discharged a single shot at the man, who dropped to the ground still.

"Why is this one still breathing," a militiaman cried. "Execute this one."

Space-based imagery captured on October 26th appeared to verify that killings were additionally conducted on the streets of al-Fashir, based on a report issued by the university analysis team.

One observer who provided testimony said he had witnessed "multiple of our kin being executed - they were collected in a single location and each one killed."

Paramilitary Leaders Attempt to Carry Out Reputation Management

In the days that followed the massacre, militia leader acknowledged that his forces had committed "violations" and stated the occurrences would be investigated.

Among those detained was after a investigation documenting his executions. Meticulously staged and produced recording posted on the militia's authorized social media platform show the individual being led into a cell at a detention facility on the outskirts of al-Fashir.

Simultaneously, the militia and affiliated social media channels began attempting to reshape the story.

Updates depicting its fighters distributing assistance to inhabitants were shared by several individuals, while the force's public relations unit released several videos claiming to show the humane management of army detainees.

Despite the online effort being deployed by the paramilitary, their conduct in the city have generated worldwide outrage.
