Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that Salah expressed regret to the team following the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match following voicing frustrations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has refused to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
Jones also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. He feels the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, getting results and on a positive run.”
