Jurgen Klopp says coming back to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Anfield in 2024, indicated that returning someday remains something that could happen. Klopp, post a game-changing nine-year spell which brought a European Cup triumph and ending the club's long wait for three decades, has since taken on positions as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

The club claimed the league title in the previous campaign, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would welcome the possibility of his potential comeback. In a wide-ranging interview, he told his interviewer: “I stated I will never coach a different club within the country. So that means should it be the Reds...yeah. It's plausible.”

“Being 58, that means I might decide down the line, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I can just see how things unfold.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about which situations would have to unfold to draw him back to the touchline, Klopp admitted he isn't eager for a comeback. “It's unclear to me, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “I don't crave being a coach; No desire to be under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; I don’t miss going to press conferences four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews weekly.

“No nostalgia for the changing area per se, however, dining out with the players having a nice chat, is pleasant. We won a lot of games so there was often a very good mood around the place. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears for example.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, acknowledging his role for the adjustments that won the league last campaign. Liverpool have lost four in a row across various tournaments following significant transfers, but he rubbished the idea that it might signal the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward such as Wirtz, critics will regret with negative comments. He’s an incredible talent. Ekitike, incredible player. It’s a really good balanced team. No need for concern over the club, things will improve.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

He shared movingly regarding the passing of Diogo Jota, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, along with the consequences on Liverpool. The forward died tragically in a road accident alongside his brother recently.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond his footballing ability, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the dressing room absent his presence. Putting it into words is tough about it. It was an incredible shock for all the boys as well. Not a single person might employ it for poor performances though it's a fact. Being in that space where he was omnipresent. Dealing with that on a personal level is not easy. Unbearable.”
