I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
