Hulu is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest action-packed game that players explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in violence and insanity with the same excitement, all while telling captivating, socially charged stories. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series pulled in two producers whose projects have embodied all of those elements.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game property, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' structure by introducing a fresh setting and cast of characters in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series under their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team continues to lift me up with their constant trust and backing.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a variation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the essence of society through this complex and chaotic lens, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to partner with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, daring sensibility to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
